Wired, Senior Editor, San Francisco, CA (March 2007 - Present)
I edit technology and gadget coverage for Wired Magazine's industry-leading tech culture website. My responsibilities include the Gadget Lab blog (http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab) and Product Reviews (http://www.wired.com/reviews). With a staff of one associate editor and three reporters, we produce daily breaking product news, news features and product reviews. As required, I also fill in as acting news editor, run morning news meetings and make coverage and editorial decisions throughout the day for a newsroom of 20 reporters and editors. I appear in, and help produce, web videos, and represent Wired through media appearances on radio, TV, and print. Accomplishments: - Increased traffic to Gadget Lab 10-fold.
- Contributed to design and launch of a successful reviews site that is now attracting significant traffic.
- Launched Wired.com's business coverage and helped it secure an award for excellence in online journalism from the Society of Business Editors and Writers (SABEW) in its first year.

Ziff Davis Media, Editorial Director, PCMagCast, San Francisco, CA (May 2006 - March 2007)
- Launched PC Magazine's webcasting efforts by creating compelling online events, including webinars, virtual tradeshows, and web videos.
- Produced two Folio award-winning online events in the first year.
- Recruited speakers, organized events, and coordinated producers to ensure successful execution.
- Worked closely with sales team to create saleable new editorial and advertorial products.

- As member of eight-person startup team, helped launch a monthly consumer-oriented magazine covering mobile technology.
- Created and edited several magazine departments: Start (news/trends), Travel, and Mobile Life (games/entertainment/lifestyle).
- Developed, wrote, and edited numerous features, reviews, and news stories.
- Covered multiple product beats: video games, portable gaming platforms, digital cameras, camcorders, software, security.
- Managed the magazine's Movable Type-based web publishing system.
- Produced a series of cover-mounted CD-ROMs containing useful applications and digital content.
- Represented the magazine at trade shows and on radio and TV appearances, including MSNBC, CNNfn, The Dennis Miller Show, and ABC Radio.

Research Libraries Group, Editor and Content Consultant, Mountain View, CA (November 2002 - September 2003)
- As a contractor, provided editing and content consulting services for the Research Libraries Group, a nonprofit consortium of research libraries that is now part of OCLC.
- Edited the quarterly members' magazine (print) and several online newsletters, as well as reporting on RLG events for those publications.
- Assisted with the redesign of the RLG website by providing analysis and QA on the content management system, website structure, and navigational text, and by writing and editing web copy.
- Helped craft the public and internal communications for RLG's merger with OCLC in 2006.
